The fruit of over 15 years of passionate research and dedication, this project is more than a showcase of musical richness—it is a journey through the soul of an instrument, guided by a musician who traversed the world to collect its rarest voices and most hidden charms.
João Pedro reveals the accordion’s vast expressive range through a vibrant and eclectic repertoire. From the earthy pulse of bugios and chamamés to the intricate rhythms of choro, baião, forró, and the smooth allure of bossa nova, his performance bridges heritage and invention. The concert features his own masterful compositions alongside works by Piazzolla, Vivaldi, Bach, Villa-Lobos, Hermeto Pascoal, and Tom Jobim — creating a richly textured and unforgettable musical journey.

João Pedro has performed in countries such as Germany, Austria, Italy, Switzerland, France, Portugal, Hungary, Romania, Slovakia and Brazil. He holds a bachelor's degree in accordion from the Som Maior Conservatory and studied with masters Acioly Machado and Adelar Bertussi. For 12 years, he lived his “Masters of Dreams” alongside his friend and mentor Hermeto Pascoal, with whom he was a soloist in the concert "Hermeto Pascoal 80 Anos" in 2016. His discography includes nine CDs, two DVDs.
Leonardo de Medeiros is a multifaceted guitarist, bassist, singer, and producer whose career began in 1982 with the Terra Santa Group at Rio Grande do Sul’s nativist festivals. He has performed with renowned gaucho artists and taken Brazilian music abroad through work in Curitiba, Lisbon, and Madeira Island. Leonardo contributed to João Pedro Teixeira’s recordings and has served as bassist and producer for Luiza Barbosa (The Voice Kids 2019) and Bibiana Alves.
Jean Carlo Godoy is a composer, arranger, and music producer with a degree in Popular Music from UFRGS, specializing in the acoustic guitar as his primary instrument. His work blends South American roots with jazz, tango, choro, and samba influences. He’s performed with top names in native music and collaborated on instrumental projects with artists like Leandro Rodrigues and Gilberto Monteiro. His debut album, Mi Sonido, showcases his original style, and he also produces for other musicians.

João Pedro and Miquèu Montanaro’s collaborative project is a dialogue between cultures and timbres, weaving together the expressive warmth of the accordion with the lyrical resonance of the flute. Rooted in the rich traditions of Brazilian and Occitan music, their repertoire blends original compositions and reimagined folk themes, drawing from baião, forró, and choro, alongside Mediterranean and improvisational influences.
Their performances highlight the versatility of both instruments, with João Pedro’s accordion ranging from earthy and rhythmic to delicate and melodic, while Montanaro’s flutes introduce airy textures and inventive phrasing. The result is an intimate yet adventurous musical journey—where traditional roots from two countries meet contemporary imagination.

Miquèu Montanaro is a renowned French multi-instrumentalist, composer, and improviser, best known for his innovative work with Mediterranean and Occitan traditional music. Born in Provence, he has dedicated much of his career to blending folk traditions with contemporary and world music elements.
Montanaro is particularly associated with the galoubet-tambourin (a small pipe and drum combination native to Provence), but he also plays various flutes and other traditional instruments.
